Favorite duck coop bedding?

What is your favorite duck coop bedding? I am in the process of building a new duck coop and it will be substantially bigger than their current one. (It will be 7'x12', I have 6 ducks and plan on getting more.) I currently use pine shavings but if I use that in the next coop my costs will greatly increase. What do you like best? Which way is the most affordable option?

Straw works well for me. I buy the compressed bales at Tractor Supply.

I still think you'll make out better going with the shaving because with straw your going to have more mess to clean, with the shavings and I use a deep litter method I just scoop out the wet poop and fluff and done and add new when needed. When I used straw oh my gosh the wetness was just there no soaking at all which to me was not good. With shavings the shaving soak up the wetness and it can be scooped right up

I recommend the brand Manna Pro Fresh Flakes, you can get it online or at a Tractor Supply. We also use the deep litter method @Miss Lydia listed above.

I use pine shavings....works excellent for my Ducks...
