Wanted to do an update with these pics because I didn’t have many last time, and they weren’t that great. You can see the side without the wing, and I got a view from above, too. Most of her feathers have grown back and there are even feathers growing where the wing used to be. The nub and bone is completely covered over with skin and muscle now, too. She still “flies” a little bit, somehow, even with one wing. Not sure how exactly, but it’s not as extensive or effective as a chicken with 2 wings. Her condition definitely doesn’t limit her. We built her a ramp to be able to get up to the nesting boxes, and she does use it to go up and down (which I’m glad of, because I don’t want her to hurt herself jumping down). She’s a pretty intelligent girl, and I think she knows what’s best for her. She has become my husband and my favorite chicken, and comes to us most, and is comfortable being picked up (none of our others will tolerate that). So essentially she’s living the spoiled chicken life :love
That is so wonderful! From some of those angles I'm not sure I would have noticed she was missing a wing!

I have a chicken, Burrito, who had some pretty rough patches in her life which required a lot of handling. She wound up being my friendliest bird too.
