I have been letting my pullets free range. They have been staying close to the coop and run, but last week they discovered the fig tree near by. Now it is where I find them often. When the figs ripen and start dropping, they will really love it

That's terrific!! Let the chickens clean up the dropped figs! It will cut down on pests and provide some good nutrition to the chickens.
