I'm partial to the Stellar Jays, in my yard.

But my favorite ones to watch are the Black Capped Chickadees

round here in my backyard..the birds to enjoy are the Blue Jay's, Cardinal's and I think I have a huge family of Hummingbirds

I soo loves those Humming birds

Cardinal, every year have a pair nesting here. Don't know if they are the same birds year after year. Love seeing them, teaching babbies to fly.

Chickadees because of their antics. If the feeders are empty they will fly to me as I exit the house or my truck with their complaint, "Dee, dee, dee." Baltimore orioles because of their song and brilliant flashes of color as they flit about. Mockingbirds because of their wide repertoire of sounds - although with the increased Coopers/sharpshin hawk populations the mockingbirds around here are no where near as vocal. I'm wondering if this is intelligent on their part or if silence is a trait inadvertantly selected for since the most vocal get eaten?

As a lifelong birdwatcher, I find it hard to narrow it down to a few. Carolina Chickadees have to be on the list - so much personality is such a little body. Carolina Wrens make the list too, they nest in the craziest places! Eastern Bluebirds are a sentimental favorite for me and you can't beat that intense blue. Pileated Woodpeckers are always a treat. I love to watch Kingfishers fishing and Pelicans flying in formation mere inches above the surf. As annoyed as I was when a Great Blue Heron swiped the last goldfish from my pond, I love to watch them stalking around in a marsh. I enjoy hearing the Chuck-will's-widow calling in the woods at night. Even though the Brown Thrashers and Cardinals are eating our blueberries as fast as they start to show color, I'm kinda partial to them, too!

Awww that is soo sweet mine is the Cat birds as to what we call them :p

At the moment, probably the Montezuma Oropendola. I've been hearing shows, movies, games, etc with jungle background sounds and a very weird, neat sounding animal for as long as I can remember, and for a very long time have been on a rather blind hunt for what it was, only less than a year ago found out it was the Oropendola, a very neat and weird behavior tropical bird.

Gotta confess, the birds local around here aren't my favorite. Stellars Jays are fun to watch cussing at each other or me, Flickers are beautiful and weird birds with very imitating type calls, and Swallows are a joy ad a good sign of summer, but, when I love birds I often look to species that are exotic. I can't name a favorite though but my interests do focus from one to the other in phases.

Wrens, starlings, tit mice, jays, and all of those little finches out this time of the year are my favorites. Starlings are most likely the most fun to watch, however. They like my yard a lot, and seem quite playful.
