Is Favus seasonal, as in it shows symptoms every summer?

Edit: I realize I should probably clarify. My rooster has developed a scab, of which I think is Favus, every summer for the past three years, but then it goes away in the winter. That's what I mean when I say seasonal.

Can you post some photos?

That's a good question about it being seasonal. I suppose it's possible since it can be described as "chronic" which to me would include re-occuring.
Since it's a fungal infection, I would think it can definitely return.

Have you treated him before? What did you use?

I don't have any recent photos (only photos from 2017 when it first showed up), though I will try to get some tomorrow as it is dark now.

In the past I sprayed Blu-Kote on it. The Blu-Kote would clear it up for a little while but then it'd come back. I was never sure it was Favus so I wasn't ever super on top of it with the Blu-Kote. In the winter it would just... go away so I figured it wasn't really anything. The first time it showed up it wasn't powdery white so that's another thing that threw me off. But now, the third summer, it looks powdery and has to be Favus, I don't know what else it would be.

Get us some photos.
For Favus, The Blu Kote would probably clear it up if it's applied every few days.
An anti-fungal cream(Athlete's Foot cream) can be used to treat Favus too.

I got some! There is a scab on both sides. I sprayed Blu-Kote on it last week, so it cleared up a bit but is still there. There is white around it, and there was more white before the Blu-Kote.

Well, that's interesting (the pattern of it anyway).
If you can get some athlete's foot cream, I would try that. Apply daily and see if it clears up pretty quick.
If that's not possible, then use your Blu Kote daily.

Wear gloves when treating the comb, Favus can be transmitted to humans.
