Feather and egg colors in EE, Ameraucana, & Araucana?

Pics
My chickens (in the pics I shared) are crosses between Sebrights and Pekins :)
Figured they would make a useful visual example for the breeding of a Laced variety to a Non-Laced variety.
How fun! Pretty chickens.
But I do also have NZ Araucana in Blue/Black/Splash.

The thing with Easter Eggers is, because they are a cross between an Americauana and a Non-Americauna, it's a certainty that you're going to get "complex" results in the chicks and unless someone is putting a lot of effort into selectively breeding for a specific pattern or type, then what's on offer is most likely going to be a "lolly scramble" of options :)

It's a shame you cannot do a wee project for yourself.. to breed the type that is dearest to you :)
Well, we'll see. Real estate has gone up so much here that I'll take what I can get. If and when I can get it.. If I can swing something outside of town limits I'll be able to do so. I think you have the same RE inflation in NZ and Aus from what I've read. Possibly the same climate as me too more or less- I'm in far northern coastal California.

That's OK, I don't need ALL of the flock to be that color. I'd be happy with several of them and good chances of more. I was locked down all week and dreaming of future chickens. Nice way to spend time. They make me laugh.

Yeah.. REE has gone through the ROOF here lately. Lots of added demand with ppl coming home due to Covid.. and there was a supply issue already. Nice for ppl who already own - their investment increases in value. Difficult for ppl trying to buy for the first time though - prices go up quicker than ppl can save deposits :(

I think RAA above may be on the right track with the Duckwing colour. And I think the overall look you like includes lacing. So if you find your new place and can try a wee project you've got some good starter ideas at least :)

A lot of it here is investors even though the news says Covid migration..

but anyway, thanks again! :)

Yeah, they look very similar. It's possible brown or duckwing leghorns were used with the EE's. Then again, they look pretty similar in coloring to the wild jungle fowls. There's also a type of chicken in Austria that looks simular but are reputed to have less friendly personalities. One could use a duckwing leghorn roo, but if I remember right someone mentioned they have a white egg gene that makes a paler blue egg when crossed. Not sure if that's true or not. The golden EEs have more random patterning and lost the salmon colored breast too.

The cream leghorns have already been bred to produce blue eggs consistently, but have a some white or silver coloring in them.

Red Junglefowl. The hens in the first pic look a little bulky for wild type- those might have a little domestic chicken in there, but the coloration is right;
