I hatched this little Buff Cochin for my friend. When her eggs hatch the chicks are quickly done in by fire ants. Only a few make it to adulthood. Does anyone know when the roo chicks comb goes red? She wants a hen, and so far the comb is still very light at 3 1/2 weeks.
The roosters comb should start to get larger some pout at nine weeks of age and then at about 10-12 weeks the comb should start getting red

The winners are here!

3rd place goes to..... The 4 month old Light Brahma pullet! Congrats!
