Feather-footed Roo Foot Bleeding/Foot Issues?

My first, and only, feather-footed rooster has some gnarly looking feet. He is 29 weeks old. I found him with a bloody foot, but it is no longer bleeding. There are no wounds or sores. I’m guessing it is from a broken pin feather because there appear to be some new ones starting. So, two questions.
1. If the bleeding has stopped, should I just watch and see?
2. Do his feet look healthy, otherwise?

Thanks all!

Wondering if it’s gotten better for you. My young roo also has something going on with his feet. A vet commented when I posted elsewhere and she had said it may have to do with hormones and the growth of their feathers in the foot. My silkie is still having problems but the rest of the flock doesn’t have mites. Not even my other two silkies who roost very closely to him.

All to say, I don’t believe it’s mites.

Thank you. I have read that roosters’ feet are red from hormones, naturally, but since his aren’t completely red I was worried. It does look like he has new feathers coming in, too, in a lot of the red areas. I’ve never had one with feathers on their feet so I am not sure what’s normal. I did treat the flock for mites/lice and the coop/run, also. It needed a good cleaning, anyway. None of the others have problems in their legs, but one did have some feathers missing on her lower back. None of the others have feathers on their legs/feet, either.

My roo still has something going on. I still don’t believe it’s mites or anything. Hormones make sense but same with me, never had a rooster with feathers on its feet so it’s throwing me for a loop. He’s also been picking his foot up so I know it’s bothering him. I’m hoping it will figure itself out soon but for now, I’m doing an epsom soak after he roosts at night when he’s calmer. He seems to like it I think. But I’m not sure if it will actually help.
