Hello all, so when I plucked my meat birds after a flash boil, I noticed a pimple like liquid in the feather root holes that would come out if popped. Some were white and some were black and white. First time processing so curious if anyone knows what it is.

Thanks

I don't know the technical name for it... but that just means that those feathers were still growing, so blood feathers. The different colors are due to the blood, or the color that the feather was going to be.

Fully grown feathers are dried up where they connect.

And... it has been so long since I have LOOKED and paid attention, I could be slightly off...

But anyway, NORMAL. :old
