Feather loss and discharge

My 3 year old hen had lost a lot of feathers from her butt, so thinking she might haves mites we washed her with soap and water. The feathers began to slowly come back, but now we see a yellow discharge on her b and she has become less active and hiding. We cleaned the area but notice more discharge. Also her comb is darker and flatter than before. I didn't feel any lumps in her abdomen, what could be wrong- very worried.

A photo would really help to see what may be going on.

I'll link an article for vent gleet below in case that matches up. Vent gleet is an overgrowth of yeast and causes feather loss, ugly discharge, and overall unthriftiness in the hen. If left unchecked, it can kill the hen.

It is not contagious, per se, as it is an overgrowth within the hen. The article below gives suggestions on how to treat it. If it is a milder case, feeding yogurt twice a day, cleaning the area, then spraying with tinactin spray externally can help. Tougher cases will need stronger measures covered in the article.

But again, I am making assumptions about what may be going on with the bird. A photo would help with diagnosis.
