I have some new chickens in quarantine, and they are overall healthy, but there are bare spots on 2 of their heads. I looked for external parasites and I cannot find any. I parted the feathers around the bare spots, and also around the vent. I can't find any bugs or bug poo.

This is only my 2nd year in chickens, so I don't have much experience. We've never had external paracites, so I'm not 100% positive I know what to look for, but from how the books describe it there aren't any.

Could this just be where the roosters are a little rough? Or the start of moulting?

Is there something I could put on the spots just to be on the safe side?

(Sorry the picture isn't the best... I held her with one hand while I took the picture with the other.)

Well the roo's breed with them and they use the hens head feathers to hold on. So that might be why.
