Feather loss?

I've just been out to check on my mini-flock and noticed that two of my girls have lost a few feathers under their wing, both on the same side (right).

I'm not sure if its ment to be there and that i just havn't noticed it but it has left a bold patch. They are both almost a year old. Anyone have any idea what might cause this?

Not enough information to tell. When you do the pic, check for any sign of lice, just in case. Must simply be the beginning of a moult, in which case Search at the top of the page under that topic- your girls may need extra protein at this time.
