Funny solution maybe...

We've got a hen we've had separated from the main flock trying to give her a chance to regrow her feathers.
We've made a interesting discovery though, other than her he's feather's, she's picking them herself off of her shoulders, breast, and just above her tail. Weve been directed to try pinless peepers, but we're wondering what about a cone, like when a dog cat or parrot has something they need to leave alone.

Anyone try this yet, is this already a thing? We're thinking it will also protect her nice new head feathers from the pecking order reintegration.

Thoughts?

A cone may prevent feather picking but doesn’t treat the underlying problem. Does she have some sort of skin condition (parasites or allergies) or is it a psychological issue (stress or boredom). Putting a cone on her may help the feathers but may make the underlying issue worse (stress). Cones are great for temporary issues (so the dog doesn’t chew out stitches) but are lousy for long term bad habits/medical issues. It may be a pain to figure out the underlying problem but will be best for the birds long term wellbeing.
