feather picking problem need more suggestions

Another great way to add protein and nutrients to their diet is calf manna. In fact, after seeing a post about it in early January, I started using calf manna as scratch (they love it), and the eggs started coming three days later. Love the stuff!

Glad to hear your feather picking seems to have improved!

My spoiled chickens don't like Calf Manna.

They prefer expensive cottage cheese, thanks!

They're still picking away at each others' feathers but don't do too much damage. There are three of the 11 who have perfect feathers and I'm sure they're the culprits--the dominant red hen, Matilda, and the two most high-strung of the Orpingtons, Violet and Poppy. As long as they don't do any major damage, I've given up trying to stop them from picking. They have a constant low-level of picking, and it's greatly reduced if I give them hay to play in or they can go outside (if it's nice). We're just waiting for spring!
