Feather sexing quail help

Even two males are likely to fight and injure or kill each other, especially in that small a space. :-(
So would they be alright if they were by themselves completely in that size space? My set up is condo style with 3 stacked cages. Would it stress them out to be that close to the other birds but be alone?

It depends on the birds. Keep a close eye on them. They're likely to fight, but they might surprise us all and get along.

Hey all, my jumbo Cortunix are 2 weeks old which I know is on the earlier side of feather sexing but they seem to have most of their feathers. I believe I have 5 girls and 1 boy. Would anyone care to check and share your thoughts. If I don’t have a boy I would like to order eggs ASAP due to the long wait times, but if I have at least 1 boy I’m planning to breed from that stock for now. Thank you!
The one with the orange on the chest is the male. A speckled chest is always a female although some females may have orange as well. I've noticed females with orange tend to carry a dominant brown gene

Sorry maybe I wasn’t clear. I have 3 separate housing spots. So I was planning to do 3 girls and a boy in 1, and then each of the remaining males get their own house so they can’t fight. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn’t be worse to be completely alone rather than risk them being together. But it seems like they would be fine to be alone.

Thanks. I added updated pictures at the bottom of the first page because it looks like now 3 are presenting as males.

Oh, yes! That should work.

I have two males that were raised together in the same enclosure. They get along really well, but they're in a large space (about 1.2 x 2.4m). I don't recommend keeping the males alone for too long, because quails need company. Are you able to get females for them?

All right everyone, I have updated photos of 3 that might be males. Do all 3 look like males to you? I’ve read that some can still have rust and some speckles but my girls are very obviously all speckled with barely any rust so I just wanted to get some opinions.

If these are giants - be very wary about trying to feather sex them.

I tried to take some photos to show you some of my girls - but the battery was low and the camera failed - will take some later.

In giants - girls tend to have few or no spots on their breast and a slight redbreast. I have to wait with mine to sex them. Others have lots of spots making sex easy.

To make matters worse for me I have Italians mixed in with this hatch - so I cannot tell the male Italians either. Note to self - separate hatches in future.
