Hey all!
For my art class, we were supposed to draw an animal. Naturally, I go to my chicken run and choose one of my younger girls to draw. Out of all my little girls, I thought Feather, our silver-laced cochin, would be the best subject because she sits so still.
Feather has a great story.
This story started when she arrived at the feed store, mixed in with a box full of silver-laced wyandottes. Three days later, I pulled into the parking lot of the feed store with 5 chicks in mind. I got really excited when I saw that they had silver-laced wyandottes. After getting a box, I went out to the chicks and got a buff orpington and 2 black sex-links. Then I went to the silver-laced wyandottes. I got one, and upon seeing that it was a healthy chick, put it in my box. I then reached in for a second, and held it up. As I was checking it over to make sure it was healthy, I saw that it had feathered feet!! "You're not a wyandotte," I told her. As we were looking it over, trying to figure out what the heck kind of chick it was, I said, "I don't know what it is, but I will definitely take her!" And because we kept calling her"the feather-footed one" I decided to name her Feather.
But anyway, yesterday, I went outside with my sketchbook and pencil and started to draw.
I swore I would never be an artist.... but as I kept adding more and more details.... and seeing how good my drawing looked.... I got really into it!!
Here's my picture, tell me what you think!!
