Hi Vera (and everyone!)~

Thanks for the well-wishes and prayers. I had foot surgery for arthritis and a bone spur on Tuesday. The next day--after the nerve block wore off--I was in horrible pain! And I have a pretty high pain tolerance. I was on Percocet but it made me itch all over so I stopped taking it and am now just taking Motrin and the pain is tolerable. I'll be in a boot for at least the next 2-3 weeks. But I should be able to start back up at work then, right as the new school year begins. :)

My new babies are adorable! They grow so fast. I'll have to get new pictures of them and post them. They're so sweet. The Cemanis get out of quarantine next week and into the new coop my hub is building. The little sick one pulled through and everyone is thriving. Yay!

Cindi (still at 14 chickens)
Hey Cindi, it is good to hear that you are recuperating fairly well. That sounds like a very painful ordeal that you had to go through. I know that you are thankful that the worst is over

@pitbullmomma, Glad your feeling better Cindi. I know you'll be glad when your all healed. It's great that your babies are doing well, too. I'm not sure if I mentioned it here, but I only recently got back into raising chickens after a 12 yr break (we had moved to a smaller place from acreage).

This is Buttercup, one of the Red Sex Links that started laying last week! It's great to have fresh eggs again! Now every time she sees me give one of the other pullets a grasshopper, she gives me the stink eye. As if to say, "I haven't seen that *itch lay any eggs!"
