Feathering Out Weird?

I got a 5-6 week old (supposedly) Buff Orpington chick about a month ago and she's feathering oddly. 'She' already has combs and wattles coming in which has me questioning if 'she's' really a she, but her feathers don't look the way I think they should look for a 9-10 week old chick. Otherwise, she seems healthy, active and is a good 'mother' to the 3-5 week old chicks she's in with. I'm just kinda concerned about the way the feathers are coming in.

Sometimes cockerals will feather in like that but could be genetics too...boy for sure hun

I have to agree with the others "she" is feathering out normally for a "he". The comb coloring in this early is another clue. Generally, hens get red closer to laying age.

I was hoping 'she' wouldn't really be a 'he' especially since the person I got him from said it was a her. Hopefully my others will be she's!
