We have 11 chicks that hatched on April 20.
The Rhode Island Reds already have a good start on wing and tail feathers but their Black Australorp cousins aren't feathering at the same rate.
Is this simply a breed difference?
I've not had BA's before and was curious. They're all active and healthy so I don't think there is any cause for concern health wise.
The BA's also prefer to be a little cooler. The brooder temp is 85 and the RIRs like the heat but the BA's shy away a bit.
