Hi!
Years of admiration and finally ready to embark on a chicken adventure.
New chicken adventure is second time actually. First cluck experience were not my chickens at a place I was living. First time chickens here at my farm neither I nor the farm were really ready for the donated old hens so they were rehomed. This time more research and reading and building space means all of us will be happier.
Currently, 5 Christmas Chicks, all French Copper Maran
My man is excited about backyard eggs, I am excited about feathers, weeding help and antics.
We have an herb farm and are planning on it being sustainable if not fully biodynamic. We are in development so things are growing and we are moving gardens to fit an ultimate plan. Lots of fence going into the ground to protect ours and neighbor's animals. Our property is home to Cats, Dogs, wild turkeys and duck, in addition to our domestic ducks (3) and a new flock of surprise Birthday Quail! We hope to add goats shortly for larger brush control projects.
I can't remember the first question that brought me here to BYC, it was years ago. It may have been when I was a herbalism student and my friend wanted advice for her backyard flock.
I have enjoyed my many reads before now on this website, it has helped me and those I know.
