Feathers around the coop

I have 10 chickens that are about 13 weeks old now. They all get along well. I see the occasional chest bumping but never any pecking at each other. I keep finding what I would consider a lot of feathers around the coop. None of the chickens seem disheveled like they are getting picked on or are missing clumps of feathers. Do chickens normally shed feathers as part of their preening? Or do I have an aggressive chicken that is plucking at the other's feathers when I'm not there to witness it? They are getting plenty of fresh air and time outdoors. Their feed is of the appropriate protein level and they get plenty of fresh water. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

At thirteen weeks they are still growing, and will go through, if I remember right, 3 molts before they are 6 months old. At any rate, they are a constant "featherfest" while they are young! I wouldn't worry about it if you are not actually seeing any pecking or blood drawn. They may eat a few feathers here and there, if they eat them constantly you need to up the protein.

Thank you! This is my first time with chickens since I was a teenager working on a farm. I'm relearning everything day by day!
