So I've noticed my hen quail's feathers look kinda ruffled on her back and it looks like feathers have been plucked out behind her neck. There used to be this bullying problem where my Texas A&M hen would peck at this brown one while my fawn brown male was fine. Then I just separated them for a while then it stopped. Now my roo has started mating and whenever I do see him mating its with my brown one so is it overmating? Both hens are laying so I don't think its anything to do do with diet.
I donnn'ttt knowwwww! help!!

Would separating the brown one from the remaining two so that he learns to mate with the other quail work? and then letting her back in when her feathers grow back

Yes but then he might start overmating the other hen. You should at least have 3 hens per male. I would consider balancing it out.

Hm. I can't really get any more quails at the time being.. I've just tried keeping them separate and seeing what'll happen. The male's going mad though. he keeps crowing to the brown one but she doesn't have a care in the world. Could it be the white one's colour that's causing him not to mate with her?

Good point. Or they can’t mate because of them being different quail breeds. Like you said it is Texas a&m.

Oh dear. That's a breed??!?! The person we got them from said its just a different colored coturnix called a Texas A&M!!!

Oh..................well if you have an incubator then incubate the eggs from the overbreed one if you don’t have an incubator you can always make one.

well, yeah i have an incubator and have already put some eggs in yesterday... but my issue is the overmating...

Add the new females when they hatch. To get rid of over breeding I guess you could try separating the brown female and try puting the white one with the brown male.???
