My pekin seems to be in a constant molt. Feathers look good. No lice mites or fleas. No bare spots or blood. I'm not worried about. That.

However ...every day, morning and evening, she has feathers stuffed up her nostrils. I pull them out and send her on her way.

My terrible teens asked me the ducks are snorting feathers now, and if its our fault for getting them hooked on duck crack(peas). [IMG] [IMG]

They have 2 pools and a big bucket of water to dunk their heads in. I do see them bathing very often.
I am starting to think they are saving the feathers for later.

yeah mine is constantly losing feathers. she keeps clogging the pool filter and my dad calls them "turkey leaves" lol it seems like i could save all the feathers coming from her alone and sell a bunch of expensive feather pillows! lol but shes completely clear of parasites or bald spots. i was worried about it too, but she's fine. i also have to pick some feathers out of her nose every now and then, but i'm not sure if its dangerous for the feathers to get in there, or just uncomfortable. i guess big birds just have alot of feathers [IMG]
