What does everyone do with all their feathers after the molting cycle???

This is my first time for this, but I had planned to just compost them with everything else. Feather meal is frequently an ingredient in organic fertilizers.

Mine stay out there on the ground and rot into the soil just fine. And most of my birds are molting right now!

If you want to collect them and use them to make jewelry or fishing lures you can, but I just let mine rot. They go away pretty quickly.

Some ... blow away and I assume other birds use them to "feather their nests." Some I save if they are sturdy and pretty. And others end up in the compost. .. in my garden container with the Daily Poop, lol.
