Feathers not drying! Duck not using oil gland.

Now this duck has become broody! As of this AM, she will not come out of the coop and is hiding under the shelf I have with her wings spread out. She squeeks at me when I come near and the drake guarded her at first - until I guess he got hungry and decided to give up. Should I put on heavy gloves and brace for a fight from her when I take her off the eggs?

I removed the 2 eggs and surprisingly she didn't fight. Just squeeked. But that said she is not coming out. Still sitting there. Should I pick her up and remove her from the coop?

She might be trying to avoid that drake that is abusing her also. I would keep him away from her for the time being. I have never had any with wet feather but have had them look bad while they were doing their molt. I hope she continues to improve for you.
