feathers not waterproof?

so daffy one of the two sisters we own her feathers absorb water instead of repelling water like her sisters her breathing is also really bad compared to her sister she like heaves

no thats from her sister she acts like a drake towards her

no idea what you mean by check her oil gland since we have only ever owned these two ducks and only for about a year so quite new duck owners though i do love them so much after all after daisy her sister was left fighting for her life after a coyote attack and we did every thing we could allowing us to save her
 
On the top side of the tail a couple inches in there is an oil gland. It should appear as a pink hole. They secrete oil out of there that they use to.green with and to make themselves waterproof. Make sure its not infected or stopped up. Just part her feathers about two inches or so up from her tail. You might want to find and check Daisy first since she looks good so you know what one should look like.. Come back to me afte you do this and we will work on this somemore.
 
i know its not too bad because its been some tome she has had it she just seems to get worse
we also try everything that we don't lose one before the other because they rely on each other and love each other soo much
