Cool! I never knew how people got chickens to peck in specific spots like that. I always figured people carved the pumpkins first, then let the chickens go after them. It definitely makes the carving more unique when the chickens do all the work. I'd love to see it when they've 'finished.'

Here’s an in progress shot. Usually once they get to the insides mine focus on the good stuff. Aka pumpkin guts. They usually leave the skin alone until they have it mostly hollowed out.

I also only have three adults currently (well, if you go by brain power 2.5…the Polish is not the brightest chicken) so not a ravening horde to finish it off.

Mine always do the same - a lot of their carvings have the jack o lanterns screaming lol like this emoji
