i was wondering if someone knoes if the feathers on the tail of a Red Golden Pheasant grow back..im new to raise Pheasants and had to catch him to put in his pen and i pull on his tail feathers while he was trying to escape..hopefully they grow back...if they do so how long it takes to grow back

thanks in advance

They'll grow back before molt. I have a juvenile male that lost every tail feather and a month later this is the result. He was the wildest of the juvenile males I have, and tried to bolt out of his pen. I grabbed his tail without thinking to keep him from getting outside and pulled them out. It was unfortunate, but these things happen. Since then I have spent extra time with him, feeding him treats etc., and now he is much tamer. This is about one months growth in the photo ...

He is a Red Golden male. He isn't old enough to have all his colors yet. It takes 1.5 to 2 years for them to have all the adult feathers and be bright & pretty
