feathers on their top neck, why?

why is my baby chicken growing "big chicken" feathers on its neck now. it looks like it's losing it's baby hair and growing in..older feathers? is this normal? normal for a hen? or does this mean its a rooster??

My chicks are doing this as well. They are two weeks old today. They will lose their baby fuzz and get in adult feathers. By about 6 weeks they should have all their adult feathers in and no baby fuzz so that they will be warm when they go outside.

Your little chick is growing up!

They come in wings, then on the neck, then chest, head is last.

What age is it? Usually hens grow feathers before the males.

it's almost a month old. i hope it's a hen..bc the man said 90% he thought it was a hen.
