Hi refamat! There you are!

It's a small world.

I bought some of his eggs from e-bay..really good communication throughout the transaction..and now...every single one of the 12 eggs that he sent me are fertile. Now, I have to hope that between me and my bator, that these babies hatch! Nice sized eggs too!

Well I'm on 12 of 13 shipped eggs...this one working right now was under the hen and I saw a pip this morning. Went out later on and she and her chicks had left the nest and the pip was larger. So I got everyone back on the test and hoped for the best...about 2 hrs later they were off the nest again and the pipped egg was cold, looked shrink wrapped and barely breathing so I assisted and just kept getting shell until I hit blood and a fairly large vessel! I just wanted to cry!! Ran it inside and wrapped it in a warm damp cloth and it was still breathing a lightly chirping. I placed it in my incubator and have not left it's side. Blood is drying and it's still breathing. Gosh I hope I didn't just screw this up and that I didn't remove too much shell!! Ugh that is why we say "don't touch"...I'm just hard headed obviously!!

On a good note...I can't believe I have 11 out 13 hatched shipped eggs so far!!! That is a crazy good rate and everyone is doing great so far! :)

Wow, that is a good rate. I think you will do fine with your little baby. Just take your time. It's beak is free of shell and membrane now, so it's breathing fine. Sounds like it may need the day to absorb more blood and yolk. So, maybe by tonight, you can remove more. It may be a sleepy baby for a day, but it will probably do fine. See, I have confidence in you! Just go slow. :) Let us know!

Well #12 is out...can't say it hatched because I assisted almost all the way. It's now chirping up a storm and trying to wobble around. I don't think the last egg will hatch but going to give it another day or two to see.

Momma hen has been showing her babies the world and how to eat and drink. So cute to watch!

if you are seeing viens or dark spots on your eggs they are dead. but if you cant see through fhem and only a air pocket, congratulats you have live eggs.
dark spots in the egg [vieny looking] indicate that the egg is dead.
Wha????? Since when does veins = dead???

Ok, I'd say about a quarter of my eggs are too dark to see anything, but look like this when I candle:

These two I have the highest hopes for:

These are the best I can see in any of them. MOST of them tat are too dark to see veins inside look like those top pics. Thoughts??

I just candled tonight which is day 5 and 6 for my eggs. Out of 14 eggs I have 9 that are viable. 3 look infertile 2 look like possible blood rings.

Cami day 5 now. I am more questioning those super dark eggs. It's so dark and full like the first 2 pics posted on a LOT of them, but no idea of veining bc I can see them through the egg color. Wondering if that drastic change in egg insides mean poss fertile....
