Ay! We are all momma bears (and in is case momma hens!) here with us southern girls! I may burn the house down, but my babies won't freeze! That's for sure! Ha!!!

Thanks I just can't spend hundreds on an incubator (remember the husband who thinks this is bogus, lol) but I am so determined to do this right, but even on here the advise is so broad and different from one person to the next. I am thinking it's a gamble no matter what.

You don't need to have expensive stuff & it is true that some advise varies (as my Granny always said, "opinions are like"... well you get the drift LOL ) BUT some things are basic that most everyone agrees on- like STOP OPENING YOUR BATOR! I'm just j/k

It's gonna be ok really, take some deep breaths & try to calm down. Your nerves are your biggest hurdle @ this point- I promise!

That's actually a self-blue d'uccle. She's full grown now and was a TSC special from last year. Here is a pic of her now.

Thanks Brookhavens! I really am just first time nervous I am sure. I didnt realize how stressful all those little eggs would be!! (and I have another 50 something being set up next week!!!) I may take up hard drinking before it's all over! LOL!! I am not electrically inclined at ALL!! I *would* burn my house down I am sure!! But I would love to see your home made incubators!

Good morning! One chick hatched so far! Today is day 21. Should I be worried that none of the other eggs seem to be doing anything or is this guy just an early bloomer?
