FEB HATCH-ALONG THREAD ...COME JOIN US.... EVERYONE!

I will have a somewhat drawn out hatch this month. I set 11-Buff Orpingtons on the 12th, 12-Barred Rock on the 13th, and 15-Lavender Orpingtons on the 14th. No sleep for the wicked at the end of the month...Now to start stock piling the DVR and the Kindle. Still looking for a remote to fast forward to hatch day.

Wow! So much excitement on here..congrats on all the new babies..and the babies on their way!

And, so sorry for those that aren't looking as though they will hatch..I know that feeling. Ugh!

So happy for you. When I first started hatching I got chicks but had issues with some of them. It took a few hatches before I finally found what worked for me. Now my own eggs have a 100% hatch rate (only 2 batches so far) and it's a great feeling. I can't wait until my other birds come of age so I can start setting their eggs.
Me too Brooks- can't wait till these guys get big enough to start laying! I am really thinking that hand turning as well as having them in the auto turner is working out w/ my eggs- AND the temp humidity being right! These are the 1st eggs that got the bennifit of the new thero/hygrometer thing

I'm sad my TSC doesn't have chicks yet

oh well I guess that's a sign I don't need more lol
This was the first time I ever bought chicks from TSC, but I will NOT buy more from them! The chicks were super cute, but out of the 6 I bought Wed 2 have died! Another is looking weak too. Plus I went there yesterday to pick up feed and there was a box with several very weak chicks in it. I told the lady mine had died, all she said was 'oh sorry'. The old feed & seed where I have shopped for yrs, I bought 5 from him a few wks ago- they are all going strong. Plus I know that IF they had gotten sick or died he would have replaced the chicks or refunded the money.

My choc orp chicks that hatched last night is doing great! Toddling all around the bator. #2 is still hanging in there, but instead of doing a 'zip' it's just made kind of a big hole. I see the beak poking out, breathing ok, but has not made further progress since last night. Seems to be content to just hang out in the shell???
#3 however is moving right along with her zip- so we'll see
