18 beautiful babies so far! A mixture of Bantam Ameraucanas (finally found some eggs for some true show quality) Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons, Bantam Chocolate Orpingtons, and Cuckoo Marans. With one single OEGB that was just labelled BAR. I am still waiting for a very mysterious OEGB that was labelled YNOT. No clue what either of those actually are!

So, they started peeping wednesday morning and had 4 chicks that night. Had 7 thursday morning, came home at noon and had 12. came home after work and had 14. Once I got home had to help 2 out of their eggs and two more came out on their own. Have 18 now and think at least two more will make it, so maybe 20 out of 26 will survive. This is so cool especially peeling two out by hand. They will be my special babies. Will keep ya'll posted on the progress.

Ok my eggs are confusing me ...(well its not hard) my Los eggs that were due to hatch Wed only ONE hatched .. last night end day 21.
.My own eggs not shipped No pips but saw 2 eggs wiggle today

Have more Los eggs went in lock yesterday..... now its day 19 for them and i have 2 star cracks tonite.! WHAT?
I recounted and yep day 19 That bator ran a little high though and the other ran low for a while

i didnt know it as it has an auto temp thing Genesis until checked with some other good themometers It had been 96.5 for at least the first week if not longer
BUT some hens Choice were in too at the same time and they hatched but one day late. 3 chicks from 6 eggs...shipped
Go figure My control group bombed instead of the shipped! Oh well.

Oh, I hope you get a Splash Orpington and share the picture..wait! I hope you get, a black, and a blue, and a splash Orpington.. I am behind, by the time I get to the end, you will probably have chicks! )

My flock is 100% fertile!!! Yeah I filled the turner in my LG throw out 4 eggs that died, 1 is questionable but the rest and movin and grooven!!! I'm so excited this is my first time hatching my own flocks eggs.

Ok so I took my sister to Atwoods today for a job interview. And it was like my chick radar was on beep beep beep. Low and behold there were baby ducks! Eeekk they were the cures thing ever! So you know me I wasent leaving wit out some ducks! And we still had errands to run. Oh well. Sis got done with onterview and I got me two ducks. They ten tell me they will have chicks after 4 from the po box. Aaahhhh well guess what? I went back and bout 10 chicks and another duck! I know I know bad me but they r so darn cute and I had to give them a very good home. So brought them home to 7 kids yes 7 and they are not all mine. But any ways all you hear is awww how cute. Can I hold one. Which one is mine? Reall I have to share? Lol
Just wanted to share my day. I will do mini photo shoot of new babies in morning and post so y'all can see!
I'm so excited. I just can't hide it. I know I know I want more want more

Good morning!!!

It is day SIXTEEN!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!! (yes, it gets worse with me from here....at least I warned you people!!)

I am taking the kids to a big museum we have here in Atlanta today for 2 reasons....1.) it's rainy and nasty and they are bored after being out of school all week, and 2.) so Pug doesnt tie me to a tree by the end of the day and I stay OUT of my incubator!!! (I swear at this time I feel like opening it up every 5 mins and saying "you guys good? need anything? warm enough for ya? wanna snack?? wanna just come on out?? COME ON OUT!!!")....yeah...I may need some time away today!!

I know already I will come home to like 100 of ya'll with new baby chicks so an early CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Hope you all have an awesome Friday!! Be sure to drink lots of wine and beer before coming on here for the next 5 days....you'll want it with me around! HA!!!

You have to excuse me, this is my first time....and by what I recall, I am pretty sure already is more exciting that some other "first times" i can remember in my life! HAHAHA!! Thank you Thank you, I'll be here all night!

I have 3 BBS Orp Eggs and 4 Swedish Flower hens in lockdown since Tuesday night. I was just cleaning out my other hatcher (eggs are in another hatcher right next to it) and I heard chirping!!! No pips yet but at least I know someone has internally pipped.

come on chickies! can't wait for pics- I want to see the SFH!

You are going to drown your chicks before they even hatch with that humidity. Get it down to at least the 40's.

I bought 31 EE eegs off craigslist for my first time trying to hatch eggs. They started hatching yesterday morning and I have 22 little guys in my brooder now! I was so worried that I would do something wrong, if the digital thermometer/hydrometer was acurate, did I handle the eggs right, so many things! Then I was very suprised that it worked LOL.


I just bought 36 BCM eggs and can't wait for them to get here. Hope I have the same luck with the mailed eggs as I did with the ones form CL. I'm very excited.

all my eggs have been shipped- a few tips for shipped eggs: after unpacking, let them sit with pointed end down for 6-12 hours. Use an egg carton if you have one. Then you can put them in the bator. I always set my eggs pointed end down in the bator, no turning for the first 5-7 days- it gives air cells time to settle & chick to develope. Good luck!
