Yes, been searching. Don't really know a good "starting point". Ya know?No it doesn't. It's really messy in there but doesn't stink. I haven't smelled anything coming from mine!!!! I sure hope someone comes along and know what's going on! And mine are fluffed up. I don't understand, Have you done a search to see if you can figure it out! I will search now!![]()
To add....and this may help to come up with a solution but they all are nasty feeling. Like dry this morning but still *look* wet? None are fluffy. They all look like you dipped them in hair gel and let them dry.![]()
Thank you brooks! I will need advise on washing bc they really need it. And by the sewage smell in there I think THAT is what shut all my other eggs down. I need to get the others out of there ASAP.Robin here is a good thread to read. Sticky Chick. You will have to take each chick and wash them with warm water to get the crud off. Don't beat yourself up too much. Ever hatch is a learning experience. You may try things differently with the next batch and see if it works any better. I've hatched a ton of chicks and I can tell you it took about 5 or 6 batches before I learned what works for me. These past two months have been not so great for me hatching wise. My eggs are making it to lockdown but I only get a few chicks to hatch from my shipped eggs. I haven't had any problems with my own eggs so I think it is what the eggs are exposed to during shipping. I also think a lot has to do with the crazy weather swings we have been having,
Yeah,Johnny, I lost one by what I think was not intervening yesterday and saved one. If you do choose to help, take the egg into a hot steamy bathroom. Start with a tiny amount to get a good look at what's going on. Maybe even a bigger starter hole and then put it back and wait. If you see bleeding STOP immediately and put it back, and don't "break off" the umbilical cord if there is one!! Good luck!!!
I am searching now. I just opened my bator a little and sniffed and there is a slight smell in there but nothing compared to what you are describing.Yes, been searching. Don't really know a good "starting point". Ya know?
