FEB HATCH-ALONG THREAD ...COME JOIN US.... EVERYONE!

Ok....If I can get a post up..........I would like to ask for feedback.
When I recieved my eggs in the mail................the box was toast but the eggs were O.K.
Went to lockdown and a few of the eggs have air cells coming down the side.
It is obvious the chicks have grown but are either small (probably quit) or
they look odd because if the air cell shape. Has anyone else experienced this and still
had live chicks??????????
I put them in egg cartons to hatch.
It is a split between 100% english Orps and RR.
Of course, it is the orps tha look bad.

Thank you

...I cant make myself end her life (as Maah mentioned) and I cant sit there and stare at her either. Its all on her and God now....

Wait, what? I don't think I told you to do that. I have been sick off my can this week with fever, body aches, chills etc... yuck, so maybe it came across different?

I thing you're doing great. Put her in God's hands & He will decide what is best for her.

Is anyone else having problems posting on BYC. It is telling me that because I am new here my post is being held for moderation?!?

I just got the same thing. I had a whole post, quoting from peach... then it said it was being held for moderation, errored out, and now it's gone.

It's not just you. :)

Crispy is prob one of the very cutest chicks I have seen ... The color is sooo pretty
It's gorgeous!!! I want a crispy lol
What kinda chick is it ....... Awe!!!

An EE. I got the eggs from refamat on here...he has been hatching a long on this thread too. The other pictures I posted of my babies are from him, they did well right off, but this little one didn't, but finally came to. Thanks, I thought she turned out pretty. I wasn't too sure of the coloring while she was crispy and sticky.

how many baths did it take to get her fluffed??? my 6 greaser gang chicks are STILL crusty!!! I dont know if i need to just hold them and soak them and then maybe blow dry them??? they are in the brooder and even with the heat lamp they are freezing! :(

I just ran warm water, and worked slowly. I didn't even use any soap. I made sure none got in her eyes or nose of course, didn't want any water going down into the lungs. With the warm water, and me smoothing it all away, it just came off. I given many a gooy chick a bath before, but none ever this bad. She did turn out cute. She is small compared to the others, but of course, she may have hatched the same night, but she wasn't awake for another day and a half.
I thought about using a blow dryer, but I have so many chicks in the brooder, it was kind of funny. At first I was worried because they are bigger, but she got right in there thinking that mama had finally arrived, ducking under every chick that came along. If one left, she found another. She was so strong. I just left her in there. I did towel dry her good first. She fluffed up before I knew it. I have a 75 W. bulb in my brooder. Plastic bin. Large. :D

I hold mine several times a day. They all come running out from under the ecoglow when I take the lid off the brooder box. It won't take long to tame them, just keep trying.

You know what's fun, and maybe you've already done this? Get some meal worm treats for chickens. My little chicks love it! I put them in the palm of my hand, and they come running, jump into my hand, push each other off..lol..They get to knowing ~The Hand...

What a great looking little fighter Cynthia, great color and face eh? There can be only two hens that could have thrown that with no red/browns

I love her. Thanks again for the great fertile eggs. They were all fertile. They didn't all make it, had some quitters before lock down, but I sure had a great hatch for shipped eggs. They are really pretty.
