Feb-March Hatch... Join me for the ducks and geese

I just candled my eggs for the first time. I have 32 duck eggs and 3 goose eggs in the bator. I had real doubts as to the fertility of my duck eggs due to the inability of the male duck to mount correctly. I am only on day 4 but I can clearly see veins in 5 of the 32 duck eggs and not sure about the geese yet. Thicker shells and all. I am excited tho. I knew there was no way they would all hatch and hoped to get 4 or out of it.. Fingers crossed!!!!

my ducks look good.. not really sure about the goose eggs.. they dont look very promising.. will try again after these are done.. I will be satisfied if I get a few ducks from this hatch.

I'll be setting goose eggs sometime next week. Some will be from my Africans and some will be Pilgrims (assuming I win the egg auction)!

Anything on your goose eggs, newduckie?

They are so thick shelled that I can't really tell much. I bought the big 75 dollar flashlight for candleing and usually works great, but ..... I can see veins, but after two weeks, there is really no progress. So I am thinking they are a no go. Not giving up on them yet tho.

I took some pictures today of my granddaughter with my new baby ducks I bought from the farm store. they are 3 days old today. Going to post some pictures of them after while.
