February 2017 Hatch-a-long

I would love to--one day when I have the appropriate set-up--hatch larger birds: turkeys, swans, emus! I'm curious about how many days the gestation is for turkeys (and any of the larger birds)? I think ducks and geese are only a few days longer. Please, anyone, correct me if I'm wrong. :

Turkeys take 28 I think. Emu's take 55. Crazy. I stress enough with 21.

I have a CHICK! The bantam eggs are starting early. Had a pip EARLY day 19. It hatched about 6 this morning. There is 1 more pipped. Let's hope this little frilkie encourages all it's buddies!!

Congrats on the new little peep! It sounds like your hatch is well on it's way to an early birthday party!

Wvwoodchick I have a secondary temp and humidity meter in the unit temp is spot on and humidity on unit is about 3% lower than my secondary so I gauge it as 2% higher than it reads other than that it works great!

this being my first hatch is already giving me anxiety attacks and I still have a week to go lol

I was like that with my first few hatches, especially since they pipped throughout the night. I didn't sleep for more than 2 hours at a time lol. Now I force myself to go run errands, go out to dinner and a movie, or whatever, to take my mind off of it.
