Yes. They won't hurt anything. You don't want to open it in case others are pipped. Congrats! My first one just hatched! 6 to go! Do I leave the empty eggshell there?

Ooh, I've been tickled feeding everyone the Kalmbach's Flock Maker crumbles as it's one feed for every age, but this being 24% might be better for silkie chicks. I'll have to check the other ingredients to compare but I'm sure it's good in that area too!For some reason many of mine this hatch have been pipping on the wrong end. One I had to help, as the giant porthole she made was letting the membrane stick to her down around the exposed area. Now yet another new pip is on the pointy end
It has to be from the turner not working for those 3 days in the middle of incubation.
Anyway, I found this cool new chick starter at TSC and just knew the babies would love it.
My adults love the layer pearls which are supposed to be for Susie, who never understood Oyster Shell, but they all seem to think the round shape is amazing.
So I offered it to the fluffed babies and they knew at first sight that it was food while it was in the dish and I didn't have to spread it on papertowel for them to stick their toes in! Plus, no dust, every kibble is the same.

I'm not keeping any of this batch of chicks, so it doesn't matter now, but in the future I may keep some so may want to switch to this. Thank you!
In my area, we are only allowed to have 4 chickens and no roosters. Honestly for me, I don't see the point of a lot of chickens besides egg production. I'm perfectly fine with my 4 chickens.Awe! Any particular reason you can share or just cuz?
