I tried that today. I even told them “I don’t care…I give up”. Not like I really don’t care but that typically works on one of my 6 kids when I want them to do something they don’t want to. These guys know better. They’re chirping to themselves about how they are going to wait it out for as long as possible and make me wait. I do really think that I might have some kinda action tomorrow. I was really hoping the one bantam Cochin would have hatched by now but that little monkey is in cahoots with the Cemani’s.

Looks like almost everyone is already done with their February hatches. My first one JUST hatched! And not even the first one to pip. It still has some yolk attached to it but luckily it’s the only one in the incubator right now out of the shell.

someone’s happy, this is the most chicks this hen has ever had at once, her biggest one before was three.

Yes some of them do have feathered legs, so I am hoping one of them ends up female.

11 out of 12 fertile shipped brown leghorns hatched.
16 out of 17 Buckeyes have hatched, the last one has pipped though so it might be 17/17 soon.

So far I only have 1 Cochin, which needed some help but doing fantastic and the only Cochin, and one Ayam Cemani who have hatched. I have 1 Cemani working on getting out of the egg. The other 2 is still in the air. I’m really hoping they hatch soon but I’m just not sure what they are doing. I wish there was a way to look inside of them without getting into the incubator…

In the pic you can see the Cemani and the Cochin and also the egg I am waiting for.

So only 14 eggs where fertile one was to dark to see. All 14 chicks hatched but sadly i found one dead on the next day

All 17 of the Buckeye chicks hatched. Here's a little picture of a few of the first ones hatched.

It is hard to get every one in the picture, they move and hide. but this gives you the basic idea, these are the older ones 2 weeks old...and some younger.
