We just got ours a week ago and they are a little mean. I don’t know if the lady I got them from handled them much but we are working on it. They were pulling the feathers out of our Pavlovskaya’s. We had to separate them but again, we are working on it all.

Oh wow. I have raised all mine from chicks they haven't really been mean but all my chickens take turns pecking each other. But no true bullying. I have a blue Cochin Roo. And a splash project Cochin (a mix of EE and Cochin bred to look like a Cochin but is from a green egg) so far no issues with either.

7 hatched so far, 19 to go! Spraddle-legged one is improving.

The latest hatchling was a mal-positioned chick, pipped on the wrong end of the shell. He busted a blood vein and his pip-hole was bleeding briefly, but stopped. After a few hours of wiggling but no progress, I assisted a little - I zipped around the shell for him, and saw the membrane underneath was very DRY. Moistened it all the way around with warm coconut oil and put him back in the 'bator. 20 minutes later he was out on his own. He has a soft mass on the back of his head and neck though, like a fluid-filled sac. Keeping a close eye on him. It was hard to get a good picture of it:

He's resting quietly in the brooder and so far seems to be fine.

I've never seen something like that. All of my eggs pipped internally then zipped and well they've been clumsy and playing soccer with the other eggs but no real harm.

Another chick hatched while I was away. I have 5 chicks in the brooder already, they are eating & drinking fine, but I had to show them where the food was.

I haven't seen a mass before so can't help there. But a pip on wrong end can take 48 hrs to hatch as it is an internal and external pip in one. So they take longer. All of mine have been able to hatch on their own that pipped at the wrong end.
