February 2023 hatch-a-long

Pics
Just a quick FYI on this point. Chickens do not do well alone, as a general rule. I’d plan to keep 3 (in case one dies, as chicks can be very delicate) if you go this route.
Thanks for mentioning it! I do know they don't do well solo but our animal care director would like to see if any of them get along with our solo pigeon (we have 6 and they grouped up in 2 and 3, leaving the one by himself. An unlikely pairing but they want to try. I don't think it'll happen but mentioned in possible homes anyways.

The two Easter eggers remain… plus our newest hatch in the incubator and then newly added to the brooder tonight after 11.
We did have one DIS :/ not sure what happened but there’s no internal pip and no movement. I opened the air cell for an emergency add off air but it was clear the poor thing was done. Which really sucks bc you can see the beak right there - all it needed to do was wiggle a little and it would have been fine. 😔 sad times
Yay little L+S!!! Good Work! It's funny to check in and see all the excited hands pointing and gesturing. lol. This is all making my chicken fever so much worse and I'm only on day 8!

Opinion: good or bad egg? I have attached some pics of my questionable eggs from day 8. Should I throw them out of the incubator? Thanks in advance 😊 today is day 10 and I'm getting super excited as this is my first time hatching eggs. 12 of them looked good!
