February egg swap.....partner's pending....

I forgot who sent me eggs but one little black chick was in the bator this morning and another one has pipped during the day today.

They weren't due until tomorrow so these are "early birds". Still waiting for the second one.

mine always hatch about the 19th or 20th day, so right on track. how many made it this far?

Just the one. The other one that is pipped has a big crack but isn't zipping yet. They like to keep me waiting.

The first one is black with a white spot on its head, looks like a Barred Rock, nice and fluffy and in the brooder with a bunch of others.

Not this month. Barnyard was real sick so we canceled it

The second chick is out this morning but the yolk sac is not completely absorbed

. It is a little dark brownish colored chick. We'll just have to see how it goes. No other pips.
