I have a pip. There are only 3 eggs I have hopes for. The others I think died. It's very sad. They are lavender orps and BBS English orps and spangled English orps. All bought and shipped eggs.

Breech baby is blowing bits of shell everywhere. If I am really lucky, I won't have to assist! Assist from last night is now eating and drinking, and beginning to think about trying the whole walking thing, having graduated from wiggling around to shuffling rather quickly along the ground. I don't stop worrying about assists until they are eating, drinking, and running about. We got 2 out of 3 in less than 24 hours - a very quick recovery! Hopefully some of the clutch hatches out for mama duck overnight. She has been patiently waiting for her brood to hatch...

well its officially hatch time on paper schedule but no action yet patience is the game... and its killing me!!

Someone is starting to wake up! Sooner than I expected! Not ready for exploring yet, so my little imprint project curled back up in my hand and went back to sleep after the photo shoot.. This one will be just fine! 8 more + the breech pip to go!

I love the idea of imprinting! I'm going to have to try it! Sounds like it might be too late for some of my chicks. It's got to be the first 24 hours? Cute duckling!!!

Today is hatch day and not even a peep.

I saw you had a pip last post but couldn't quote it for some dumb reason. Hoping for the best for you! I had a bunch die really close to lockdown this time. Like 30%. I wonder what causes that?

I love hatching! It never gets old. I feel like there's so much personality in these chicks before they're even out of the eggs. Love this photo:

Went to bed with 3 chicks and woke up with 6! What a suprise! Still waiting on 6 or 7 more. Only 6 looked like they were really viable on day 18. So far I have 2 blue isbar, 2 lemon cuckoo buff Orpington, 1 cream legbar and 1 beilefelder. Come on chickies! Today is the 21st day, so their actual due date. Praying I can update later with many more. I'll try to get a good pic of all the fluffies later. It's still dark now. Good luck to all the hatches today!

So I have 6 hatched and 7 to go. I don't see any pips right now. Should I try to get the 6 out and put them in the brooder or just leave it. It's getting crowded but when they lay down they seem fine.
