check out this week's temps - back into the deep freeze it seems - gosh I hate winter.

This is mine. After the -30 crap, I'm almost glad it's only -22. But, that's Friday and it'll probably change.

About the only thing we can count on is mosquitoes and black flies hahahaha!

Ah, the notorious black flies!

The black fly song has become a bit of an addiction; I’ve sung it to the chickens more than once . They liked it too!

Same temps for me.
I am not happy.
Also have lots of snow.
Really not happy.

Well, every chicken of mine that you know is dead, other than Ursula.

Predator attacks, disease, a few sudden/natural deaths, the culling of two males, and more predator attacks have left us with 9 LFs and 4 bantams in total

Oh, very sorry to hear .
I know you mostly keep pea combed birds, which I would have thought would not be so susceptible to frostbite, but it seems this cold is merciless

I did end up getting some single comb breeds so it was expected. The ones with the pea combs are just fine.
