We are sitting on Day 6 right now. Candled them lastnight... looks like something is going on but I need a brighter light LOL I can see it getting darker in their.. We set 8 and it looks like 7 have something going on!

Any suggestions on a good candling flashlight?? I am using a Maglite and while it's ok.. I cant see nearly enough as I'd like... FYI: I have brown eggs and my girls have layed DARK brown eggs so seeing isnt the easiest right now LOL

Last night was day 7.

Out of 8 eggs, I am down to 4 eggs.

My temp seems to be running higher lately.
I adjusted it a tiny bit today to get it down below 102

I'm getting excited, the 12th is lock down!

We are starting our first hatch of the year. I put in 33 Speckled Sussex and 6 Silkie eggs yesterday 2/1. This is my first time hatching out my SS from my favorite roo. I just love this breed.

This stinks .. I'm stuck at work .. wondering what's going on in my bator at home ...

My tummy is in knots ..

Can't wait for DD18 to get home at 130 so she can do a bator check ....

Okay I'm on day 9, and two of my eggs have definite fetuses, infact they're getting so dark I can hardly see them. Two others are pretty close, but not as dark and I don't see any fetus. Is this still a good sign? As for a few others - They're getting dark, no where near as dark as the definite babies - But I cannot see any veins, fetus, nothing. Are they just far behind in development? What should I do to help the rest catch up, or are they just "quitters?"

I wish I had photos to show, but maaybe later today I will. Or tomorrow. Either way - Two are a definite and about 5 more are pretty dark, but I don't see anything. . .

I am on day 8 or 9 depending on how you count it (I put in incubator at 5:00am). I candled 1 egg lastnight due to time, and I was a little courious, but i had veins in it, so I am pretty amped up right now. Can't wait to get home and see the rest of em. I will try to take some pics when I do. Ready for the 15th now.
