I have two pips out of five eggs. I just put them in lockdown this morning.
one is a BO and the other is a silkie.

Congrats February Hatchers!

I went on lockdown today with 4 olive eggers, 3 golden copper Marans, and 4 black copper Marans. I can see movement in the GCMs and dark masses in the BCMs but the olive eggers are really hard to candle. The BCM's are on the right, GCM's in the middle and the olive eggers on the left. Of course the first little peeper outta the egg will throw that system out the window. This will be my first time locking down eggs that I wasn't certain were viable. I guess we'll see in a few days if they are or not. I also have 6 more olive eggers in the back-up Brinsea. They are on Day Four. I moved my three week olds out of the brooder in my office to the grow out brooder in the coop. They hid in corners for awhile but eventually started exploring the new digs. I miss them already, especially Sweet Baby. I loved on that little guy every half hour or so. He's gonna miss me.

Ok, today is broody lockdown. Makes me wonder how does a broody exactly do "Lockdown." Well I guess technically yesterday was broody lockdown since it's now 1am lol.

OMG 17 fuzzy butts... I so wish mine will hatch. I'll do another candling on Saturday and see at Day 14 what's what. I have silkie chickens thread as a reference..... I think I need to feed my roo oysters and chocolate!

Well, they're aren't all so fuzzy butted yet .. LOL .. They are a colorful lot.. Can't wait to get them out and start taking pics of them... Will have to be another time .. I have GOT to drag myself to work this morning ... **YAWN**

I candled on day 8 (yesterday), and I have very mixed progress. I am not sure but looks like I might have 6/12 definatley progressing well, and another 2 maybes, and 4 I am not really feeling good about, but figured I would wait a few more days, maybe till d12 or d13 and see if there has been more progressing, if not, outt he window they go.

I really wasn't sure about 1/2 my eggs anyways, they were not turned for a weekend (out of town) while waiting on the hens to give me a full dozen. I was told it "might" be OK, and Itried it anyways, and oh well, we will see in a few more days. 1st hatching as long as I get a couple, I will be glad.
