I have 2 in the brooder and 5 more making their way out. I am a new mommy again

(well, to a bunch of chickens anyways) Ohhh.. my new arrivals are calling me... I just love my job!

Okay thanks all you Febuary hatchers my first batch of Febs are running around in the big chick brooders in the barn some of the Ameraucanas are doing a lot of flying...my final hatch this month ended with 10 little peepers..9 buff silkies and a nice splash....very happy with them sure to have some show babies in this group....well guess i will have to join the March hatch along as i will set another bunch the week of March 22 its my bday that week so im treating myself with some eggs..ha ...good excuse to enable my hatching addiction..happy hatching to all..Chris

Set 48 mixed breed eggs in my incubator on Feb 20th and sent 21 to my neighbors cause I didn't have room. After candling earlier this week, only 2 were not growing. Not sure about the ones at the neighbors.I had 82 eggs but one had cracked and the others were bantams and I don't want any more mixed bantams.

The breeds are Cuckoo Marans, Barred Rock, Salmon Faverolles, GLW, Buff Orpington, black Australorp and Brown Leghorn.

This is strangely addicting....

UPDATE: my final hatch rate for Feb. is as follows

91 of 109
83% hatch rate

Of those that did not hatch 5 were quiters early on right before lockdown
9 either died before pip due to weakness or drowned. 4 did quit early on...I only take out eggs if they smell...so I should have went to lockdown with 100. Hope this helps with the rate for FEB

Well today is the 21st day for my white sultans to hatch. Two hatched early, I candled day before yesterday and seen movement but I have no more pips yet.
