Hi just to clarify...i ended up with 5 live chicks out of 14 eggs but i think the eggs got shook up a lot in the mail as they didnt fire up after their candling and i lost 4 right off the bat as they were clear...the chicks i have are nice looking tho one cant get up so i guess i will have to put the sweet little guy down but the rest are very cute and bossy they rule the roost....cant wait till they grow up to see what they will be....

I want to make a permanent brooder so I am always looking for ideas. I want to do wood but I am leaning more towards metal, so that in the rare case of a fire it would be contained.

My friend gave me a silkie egg right out od the nest on saturday and i put it in with my maran eggs already cooking. Now, at 48 hours, it has a tiny baby in there! I can't BELIEVE I can see anything so clealry already!

I went into lockdown at 12:00 today. Have ten little eggs in the Brinsea. All Barnevelders. I wonder how you guys get more to fit. With a sponge and the Accurite, theres bearly any room left. Hats off to you!
