FEBRUARY Hatch-A-Long, come join in!!

Help them zip, get their head exposed so they can breath, but don't pull them out of the shell and keep them from drying out while they are still in the half shell.

Don't be jealous...I am just hoping for warmer weather and more eggs per day.

Then, you can fill up your 'bator ... right?

We are up to 11 chicks hatched, several more are pipped. I only see 2 eggs that don't look to be doing anything.

I'll get pics in the morning.

Nite all

Yay! I have 8 fluffing around in the brooder, 2 still drying in the bator and two still trying to hatch. So that will be12 out of 15 eggs...all from shipped eggs sent during a snow and ice storm...amazing!

Thanks Knjinnm - I opened up a bit where their beaks were at and made sure they were turned up where they don't suffocate and left them in the shell and they were able to bust their way out when they were ready. Right now I have 12 beautiful little babies running around and three zipping. That leaves 13 eggs that are sitting there not looking like they are doing anything! BUT, since I have learned from you all to SIT ON MY HANDS - I am going to do just that and quit fussing!Even the little guy that was so pitiful looking last night and crying so much is up running around normally this morning! He just needed to get his bearings - just like you all said! Geez and I want to set another bator full of eggs next weekend......am I sure I can do this expectant parent thing again?!!!!
