February/March Grow-a-long

Pics
When I bought the chick feed I wasn't sure if they were vaccinated, so I got unmedicated food, and a bottle of Corid, just in case. It's over the counter here, don't need a vet.
I didn’t educate myself well enough on the medicated chick feed and that’s where I went wrong as far as I can tell. Since I hatched mine out not vaccinated. Now it’s medicated feed for me and have Corid on hand. A learning curve for sure.

Coming from the February hatch-a-long, decided to make a grow-a-long continuing from that, never started one of these so bear with me. Anyone can join and add photos of your chicks are due to hatch an either February or March, then we'll go along until the chicks are grown and full. That is how these work right? 🤔.
Earliest pictures I have of the chicks i have right now:

this is really cool! I hope it's not too late to join in, as I've recently picked up our first four chicks this month and it would be so cool to share this journey with you guys : )

Ok, here is my starting post! I’ll follow the growth of these five prairie bluebell chicks that we got in February recently. They are currently at the three week mark, already looking scraggly!

And fwi: our brooder is in our basement, so the photos won’t look that great for a bit haha. Maybe if it starts to get warmer, I can do a few photoshoots outside.

This first chick is named Coal! She is a little runt, but very polite. She kept wanting to check out my camera

This one is Butterscotch. I already have a hunch she will be a boy… but we will see. For now I’ll assume they are all pullets for now

This one is Raleigh. She was not thrilled at all while I was taking her photo, and made multiple attempts to fly back into the brooder. Eventually I got this photo, with having to clean up a poo later :tongue

Here is Snickers, who is the complete opposite. She sat very still and was not stressed a bit, good job to her!

And finally, little Guppy. She was a bit afraid but made an effort to stay still for me. You’re doing great Guppy!

Here’s a photo of day old Guppy for a bit of an insight at the missed baby photos: (yes, it is also my pfp)

I’m excited to join in on this journey with you guys! I’ll try to post updates every few days, or at least every week. They are growing fast!

They are so cute! My brooder is in the basement too so I know what you mean about getting good pictures! Getting them outside is still a long way away for me so I’m going to have some big chicks indoors 😳

When were yours hatched? Mine hatched on 2/27.

Chicks are not happy with the time change here lol.
I have them down in the basement and do a little ‘mock’ sundown with the lights. I don’t know why I feel the need to do this but…I do it.
Anyway time change this weekend so lights are down to ‘sunset’ one hour earlier and they cheep their little heads off. Funny little things!

time changed here as well, though im in Florida, so its warmer here, my chicks are outside with a heat light in one of the chicken pens. I did keep them inside for about month at first though. The first batch will be 6 weeks Saturday so they'll be fine, the others ones, one turns 4 weeks tomorrow and the other will be 4 weeks Sunday. The ones I didnt hatch, not sure the exact dates but they are between 3½ maybe 4ish weeks.

That is one cute and pretty lil chick.

I'd like to jump in on this topic too. I got mine end of February and my son got his March 1st.

I'm super new to this so every little change that happens I want to document and see the progression.

If it's ok, I'll post some of my weekly chick pics soon.
